Okay, technically the theme for the week is ‘Defeat’, but I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity!

I’m back in the saddle and have rejoined the Picture a Week gang. I really missed the challenge and the shared group experience. These little guys, members of Omeeka’s Half-N-Half litter are really keeping me busy and I’ve still got four weeks to go.

The cool thing is that there is no end to the funny things they do and I find myself just sitting and being entertained by their antics. Today they are four weeks old!

6/52 Gentle Features

I just couldn’t help myself. I thought of several ideas to depict body parts, but kept coming back to the gentle features of a puppy’s face. The nose, whiskers, eyelashes, and of course that every so soft ear. Probably the softest feature on a young pup.

Much like Kirstin’s example of a child’s face, here is Picabo’s face.

The family beach trip didn’t disappoint, the weather was cold and misty when we arrived then gave way to a chilly but sunny afternoon. We had an abundance of canines this trip so we ventured to Limantour again. Tor and Becca came out for a short visit and brought the sunny skies. Thanks!

Here Adam is spending some quality time with Omeeka.

They say a sure fire way to fall asleep is to count sheep. Trouble is, I could only find three!

3/52 It’s a Puzzle?

This week’s theme is ‘macro’ which loosely translated means, close up. Most often macro techniques are used to make small things seem bigger than life. In this case, I’ve taken a close up shot of a portion of interlocking foam tiles that were stacked in my garage. All quite by accident as my camera’s “active view” was accidentally activated while we had some friends over to visit Cara’s puppies. I saw the image on the screen and pressed the shutter. I liked the colors from a distance and decided that the image would make a nice abstract.

So, not your typical macro, but…

Omeeka’s Sweet Peas are heading off to puppy raisers this week. They’ve packed their bags and are ready to go. Best of luck to each and every one of these little miracle makers.

2/52 Breakfast of Champions

I thought about waiting until Saturday morning, preparing a culinary masterpiece then taking a well lit shot. But then, that would be far to staged and not really represent the reality of each morning during the work week. So this is it, the breakfast of champions!

Taken with a Hipstamatic, John S lens, Kodot XGrizzled film.
